Jury convicts 5 in Katrina shooting

A federal jury in New Orleans found five current and former police officers guilty in an incident that happened just days after Hurricane Katrina, when two unarmed civilians were killed and four seriously wounded in the chaos on the Danziger bridge. Lester Holt reports.

LESTER HOLT, anchor: In New Orleans today, a federal jury found five current and former police officers guilty in one of the ugliest incidents just days after Hurricane Katrina , when two unarmed civilians were killed and four seriously wounded in the chaos on the Danziger Bridge . The officers were convicted of the unjustified shooting of civilians and of orchestrating a massive cover-up afterwards.
