BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi today named the final three members of what they're calling the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction , or the super committee on the Hill . Six Democrats , three senators, three House members, six Republicans . They have until late November to come up with a plan to reduce the deficit by $1 1/2 trillion. That should be easy. The pressure is on them in effect to do Washington 's dirty work.

WILLIAMS: It will then be subject to an up-or-down vote before Christmas . And if their plan is not adopted, then automatic spending cuts, including cuts to Medicare and defense spending, will kick in.
