Health care requirement unconstitutional

A federal appeals court panel on Friday struck down the requirement in President Barack Obama's health care overhaul package that virtually all Americans must carry health insurance or face penalties. Brian Williams reports.

BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: news tonight about a very controversial part of the new Obama health care law that will eventually require just about every American to purchase health insurance . Today a Federal Appeals Court in Atlanta said the requirement's unconstitutional. This means the courts are now split on the issue. That likely means it's headed for the Supreme Court , perhaps next session.
