Apple says iPhone pre-orders top 1 million

Pre-orders for the new iPhone 4S hit more than a million and topped all previous records. NBC’s Brian Williams reports.

BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: And you know how the new iPhone 4 S came out and it was panned because it wasn't a spanking new iPhone 5 as some had expected, and then Steve Jobs died one day later and some people felt bad? Well, consumers have richly rewarded Apple once again. First day preorders for the new iPhone were over a million. That tops all previous records. Up next
