Coroner confirms Wheldon’s cause of death

Driver Dan Wheldon’s cause of death following his crash at IndyCar on Sunday was ruled to be blunt force trauma to the head. NBC’s Brian Williams reports.

BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: An update tonight on our lead story here last night, the death of IndyCar champion Dan Wheldon in that awful wreck at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday. The local coroner has ruled the death came due to blunt-force trauma to the head. And IndyCar said in a statement today an investigation is under way and results should be available in a few weeks. A photo has since emerged of Wheldon and his wife, Susie . They had each other's initials tattooed onto their wrists. This was the night before the race. Dan Wheldon also leaves behind a two-year-old son, Sebastian , and a seven-month-old son,
