BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: The US government has given BP the go ahead to start drilling in the Gulf of Mexico again for the first time since the oil well disaster that killed 11 people and caused untold environmental damage. The approval clears the way for drilling to start again any day now on an exploratory well about 200 miles off the coast of Louisiana . The well is in over 6,000 feet of water, that's a thousand feet deeper than the original well.
