‘In God We Trust’ still U.S. official motto

The House of Representatives Tuesday passed a resolution re-affirming "In God We Trust" as the official motto of the United States. NBC’s Brian Williams reports.

BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: Well, while Washington may be paralyzed, unable to fix soaring deficits or partisan gridlock, at least Congress can agree on a slogan. The House of Representatives last night passed a resolution, reaffirming " In God We Trust " as the official motto of the United States . Today President Obama ripped into Republican leaders for holding that vote but not voting on his jobs plan. He said, 'I trust in God, but God wants us to help put ourselves back to work.'
