BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: The Boston -based retailing icon Filene's Basement has filed for bankruptcy. They will close their doors after the holidays. They're famous around the country once a year for the video that airs showing the annual running of the brides when hundreds of brides-to-be rush the doors and come into the sales racks for wedding dresses. They are owned by Syms , the men's clothing store that is also filing for bankruptcy. New Yorkers of all ages remember the radio ads by the founder, Sy Syms , who always said, "An educated consumer is our best customer."
