Nation's oldest 4-star general dies

Ralph Haines, a product of West Point, saw heavy combat in World War II, led some storied units and was vice chief of staff of the Army. He was 98. NBC News’ Brian Williams reports.

BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: And the nation's oldest four star general has died. Ralph Haines was a product of West Point . He led the 1st Cav , 1st Armored , and III Corps , and was vice chief of staff in the Army . Saw heavy combat in World War II . He served his country in uniform for 37 years. Retired four-star General Ralph Haines was 98 years old.
