White House releases new first family portrait

The White House released a new portrait of the first family. NBC’s Brian Williams reports.

BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: There's a new family portrait of the first family. By the way, to all the parents out there who have kids who grew up too fast, it sure looks like both parents are hanging onto those beautiful girls for dear life . Malia and Sasha are now 13 and 10. The portrait of the Obama family was taken after they returned from church on a recent Sunday. It was taken by White House photographer Pete Souza .

BRIAN WILLIAMS, anchor: And in an interview with People magazine , the Obamas talked a bit about family life these days. Neither daughter is allowed on Facebook . And while they admit to being a little bit technologically behind, the Obamas now have a DVR in the White House . They say they like watching "Modern Family" as a family, and the president says he likes grittier shows like "Boardwalk Empire" and "Homeland."
