>>> here is the cost of good intentions. the pilot of a southwest airlines flight to new york was just trying to do a nice thing over the p.a. on the plane. he told the passengers that an air traffic controller 's mother was sitting among them. he used the phrase "mom on board" which over the p.a. sounded a lot like "bomb on board." that spooked the passengers who had to be quickly calmed down by the crew. the mom was surprised by the inflight shout-out.
