Aug. 9, 1974 was a historic day of transition marked by two milestones. Vice President Ford who never campaigned for the office of Vice President or President was sworn in as President. And, President Nixon under threat of impeachment became the the first President in U.S. history to resign the office. NBC’s John Chancellor and Tom Brokaw report on President Richard Nixon’s last day in office.
