>> that was interesting. particularly in the quiet moments. you've covered him at the white house . you've seen him for years. this is not a close relationship the president has with this president and you still see that coming through but they have turned a corner. a top obama adviser said to me, look, bill clinton is the closer when it comes to the economic message. he needs -- this president needs the former president to deliver a message to independent voters, voters who might be softly committed to obama on the economy and the context for how obama came in office.
