Insurgents attack Afghan airfield

>> reporter: it seems to be a very complex attack as insurgent insurgents bombed the kandahar province . a car bomb filled with explosives after -- responded on the ground with backup from nato airpower, killing nine insurgents, at least five afghans were also killed in the attack, including three members of the u.n. collision forces. the insurgents said that the explosives did not reach the base's perimeter. afghans who are in the lead helping to kill the taliban fighters and thwarting their plannings as nato continues to turn over security here to afghan forces.
