Bay Bridge lights ‘truly a gift to San Francisco’

Artist Leo Villareal, celebrated for light sculptures in New York and Washington, D.C., used 25,000 lights to illuminate the bridge’s nearly two-mile west side. Villareal and the project’s brainchild, Ben Davis, explain the inspirations and purpose behind this monumental undertaking.
