Snow blankets Rockies, Plains

In some parts of the country, spring still feels far away. The snowfall in the Rockies, Plains and Dakotas is setting records and may not end until Friday. NBC’s Brian Williams reports

>>> today is the first of may, a time we are supposed to be celebrating spring but believe it or not it is snowing in a big part of the country tonight in the rockies, the plains, the dakotas. they are setting records, in fact. much as 8 to 12 inches when it's over. it may not be over until friday in places. the good news is snow will melt away as fast as it seems to be coming down.
