>>> new jersey governor chris christie said he's calling for a special election to be held in october to fill the senate seat of the late senator frank lautenberg who died yesterday at the age of 89. some conservatives were unhappy, first of all they don't like the cost but they were hoping for a november general election when christie himself will be on the ballot in the governor's race. the thinking is christie on the ballot would give the gop senate nominee a better shot against the widely expected democratic nominee the mayor of newark, cory booker .
