Snowden’s background check raises questions

The Inspector General’s office is conducting a criminal investigation into the company that did a background check on Edward Snowden in 2011. NBC’s Brian Williams reports.

>>> a new revelation regarding edward snowden, the contractor who exposed the u.s. data mining program. the inspector general's office is conducting a criminal investigation into the company that did a background check on snowden in 2011 in order for him to get top secret government clearance. virginia-based usis is the largest contractor conducting security clearances. the inspector general says that the company may not have conducted the background check properly, there is no allegation a connection here, unless vest fwators find systemic failures on the part of the company. which is still conducting most of the government's background checks while under investigation.
