Thousands evacuate as floods hit Canada

Canadian soldiers are being sent to help downtown Calgary and neighborhoods surrounding the city as the country copes with the worst flooding it has seen in decades. NBC’s Brian Williams reports.

>>> now we go to the north to canada. they're dealing with the worst flooding in decades there so, severe they've evacuated downtown calgary in western canada . many neighborhoods surrounding the city as well. in all, 75,000 residents are on the move tonight, uprooted. 1,300 canadian soldiers have been called in to help. this flooding was caused by a big weather system dumping torrential amounts of rain along the u.s./canada border.
