Mandela’s daughter prays for his ‘transition’

Former South African president Nelson Mandela, 94, remains in critical condition, battling a lung infection. NBC’s Keir Simmons reports.

>> reporter: good evening, brian. behind me, you can see the wall of the pretoria hospital, covered in messages for nelson man bella. people are deeply worried after the president, jacob sfwlzuma said the situation remains critical and urged people to pray for his recovery. signs last week, nelson mandela was doing better, but now things have taken a turn of the worse. he has been on a ventilator, but that is not confirmed. winnie mandela brought by police escort, suggesting she was in a hurry to get here. one close family member is privately expressing the hope that mel son mandela could still recovery and return home. but one of nelson's daughter is quoted saying she is praying for a "smooth transition." nelson mandela has done so much for the world, that he is at peace
