>>> in afghanistan today, a brazen and deadly assault in one of the most fortified parts of that country against the presidential palace and nearby cia building in kabul. attackers wearing government uniforms, carrying fake i.d.'s got of the past two checkpoints, launched a 40 minute firefight. among those scrambling to get away, children at their nearby school. at least three afghan guards and eight attackers were killed. journalists at the palace, including duncan golestani were found in the middle of it.
