Mother Nature helps in Calif. wildfire fight

Cooler temperatures and rain have helped fire crews make significant progress battling a blaze that has burned more than 27,000 acres in Southern California. NBC’s Miguel Almaguer reports.

>> reporter: as you can probably tell here over the last several hours, we have seen steady and at times heavy rain. thunderstorms began to roll in early this morning here in this region. local i'ded flooding has helped the firefighters douse many of the flames. it ''s a big break for the 3,000 plus firefighters battling this fire. at roughly 27,000 acres this blaze has explored many homes. it has cost $20 million to fight. it's 50% contained and evacuation orders have been lifted.
