Indonesia volcano erupts, shooting smoke 2 miles high

Thousands of residents evacuated from villages in North Sumatra because of Mount Sinabung’s eruptions. NBC’s Brian Williams reports.

>>> this is a big one. mount cenabong has towered over indonesia but now the volcano is active again. the vertical explosion is breathtaking. the initial blast sent the plume two miles into the air. it's already led to thousands of evacuations and has affected aircraft navigation as planes cannot go near the air space containing the ash. it remained dormant for centuries before first erupting three years ago. now there is no telling how much bigger this gets.
