UN approves Central African Republic intervention as violence escalates
France has said its military operation in the Central African Republic will begin "immediately" after the UN Security Council approved a mission to tackle sectarian violence. More than a hundred people have been killed in new clashes, with much of the fighting centered on the capital, Bangui. Channel 4’s Chief Correspondent Alex Thomson is in Central African Republic - and a warning, his report contains some distressing images.
