School Apologizes for Throwing Out Kids’ Lunches

Parents were outraged when a Utah school district took elementary school students’ lunches and threw them in the garbage because the parents owed money on the kids’ food accounts.

>>> a utah school district is apologizing tonight after dozens of elementary school students had their lunches taken from them and thrown in the garbage. they were given milk and fruit instead. this happened because their parents owed money on their food accounts. the parents were angry, they say it was humiliating for their children. the salt lake city school district said they were not able to see who owed money until after everybody had been served. the district says it was a mistake and they were investigating how it was allowed to happen.
