Mr. Mayor: Svante Myrick 'full of hope' and just 24
At just 24 years old, Svante Myrick is the youngest mayor ever elected in the city of Ithaca, N.Y. Myrick's political success and humble beginnings have drawn comparisons to President Obama. Myrick shies away from those comparisons, but said that he was inspired in part to enter politics by reading Obama's book, "Dreams From My Father."
