From the Archives: Spring Break 1962
Rock Center found a gem in the archives: a 1962 report about a growing and peculiar trend where college students spend their Easter vacations at beach resorts. The black and white footage shows bikini clad young women doing the twist and men chugging beers, not much different from what we see on MTV and Facebook when college students nationwide make their annual pilgrimages to the beach. The video of those twenty-somethings having fun in 1962 is proof that the grandparents of today gave their parents plenty of trouble 50 years ago. Brian Williams reports.
