The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Ace Bayou Corp. are voluntarily recalling about 2.2 million bean bag chairs following the deaths of two children. The chairs come in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors and fabrics and are filled with polystyrene foam beads. Two children, a 13-year-old boy from McKinney, Texas, and a 3-year-old girl from Lexington, Kentucky, died after they crawled inside the chairs and suffocated.

The recalled bean bags were made in China and sold by the New Orleans-based company at stores such as Wal-Mart and online on Amazon.com and Walmart.com. The chairs have two zippers and are round or L-shaped. Consumers should check their bean bag chairs for any zippers that can open, take the chairs away from children immediately and contact Ace Bayou for a free repair kit to permanently disable the zippers.
