  4. Connecticut ($5,646)

States with the lowest average property taxes in dollars for single family homes:

  1. Alabama ($618)
  2. West Virginia ($931)
  3. New Mexico ($1,096)
  4. Tennessee ($1,116)
  5. Indiana ($1,418)
