Tennessee Sen. Bob Corker on Wednesday removed himself from consideration to become Donald Trump’s vice presidential nominee. But that did not stop him from suggesting a possible alternative.
“His best running mate by the way would be Ivanka,” Corker told NBC News’ Kelly O’Donnell. “I know that wouldn't pass muster probably but I don't know if I've met a more composed, brilliant, beautiful in every way person.”
Trump’s daughter Ivanka has been one of her father’s best defenders when it comes to his past comments about women. Her and husband Jared Kushner have played leading roles in Trump’s presidential bid.
Corker took himself out of the running after appearing with Trump at a rally Wednesday night. He said vice president is not “the kind of public service I’m best suited for.”
