Edward Snowden Interview

Snowden On: Vindication

You know, The New York Times editorial that called for amnesty was a shock to me because it was -- it seemed incredibly courageous in the midst of a very harsh media environment that was very skeptical, very critical toward me. This was before we had had so much time to sort of evaluate the -- the results of my actions. Now, nearly a year later, we've seen that the public prize or the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service has been awarded on the basis of this journalism. The George Polk Award, the Ridenhour award --- so many, so much recognition has been given to the journalists and the reporters and all of the institutions who pursued these stories that it's a clear vindication for the Times standing up for these reporters and their stories.
