What I plan on studying in college: Journalism

Status for the fall: I am going to go to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. It's the one that's closest to home, actually. I made that decision just because of costs. I'm going to end up staying at home and commuting back and forth to SIU-E.

What I'm most excited about for college: I am really excited to broaden my horizons and grow into a well-rounded, educated adult. I want to learn how to handle responsibility and being on my own. Also, I am excited to meet new people and explore different places.

What I'm most nervous about for college: I am very nervous to be out of my comfort zone. I will have to adjust to a new area and new people without the help of my friends that I have now and my parents. Also, I'm worried that the work given in college will fill my plate and put a lot of pressure on me to do well.

What's notable, education-wise, about my family: I am the first to attend college. Neither of my parents attended post-secondary schooling and they continuously push me to make sure I give myself a better life by getting a higher education.
