She is an iconic American beauty, successful businesswoman, and devoted mom of two, and of all the “Supers” whose impossible proportions, gloss and glam reigned over the catwalk in the 90’s, Crawford's brand seemed to evolve effortlessly.

From her “House of Style” hosting days to her bestselling fitness videos to her current successful ventures with her skincare line Meaningful Beauty and her eponymous home collection, Crawford's knack for business has long been clear. Small surprise perhaps for the girl who graduated valedictorian and secured an academic scholarship to study chemical engineering at Northwestern University.

Here, Crawford weighs the meaning of success, shares her definition of masculinity, and reveals one aspect of her dark side.

What does honesty mean to you?

Really? I didn’t know this one was open for interpretation. The Truth.

What is empathy?

Being able to imagine what it’s like walking in someone else’s shoes.

What does integrity mean to you?

Being true to your inner voice.

What qualities does a remarkable man possess?

Confidence, humor.

What qualities does a remarkable woman possess?

What is power?

Having the ability to be heard and to effect the outcome.

What is success?

Having a dream, working hard, and finally realizing the dream.

Describe one aspect of your dark side.

Impatience.

What is provocative in a man?

When they take care of you.

When she allows herself to be taken care of.

What question stumps you?

“How are you?” It’s way too broad and doesn’t connect to my feelings. “How are you feeling about…?” speaks to my spirit.

What is feminine?

Soft, care-taking.

What is masculine?

Strong, protective—good thing we all as humans get to be both masculine and feminine!
