Anjelica Hadsell's Death Linked to Heroin Poisoning

Norfolk’s Chief Medical Examiner has determined Anjelica “AJ” Hadsell died from “acute heroin poisoning.”

Norfolk police spokesman Sam Shenouda said Friday that the manner of death is still undetermined.

Anjelica, who friends and family called AJ, vanished on March 2nd from her family's home in Norfolk, Virginia. The 18-year-old was home on spring break from Longwood University.

Her body was found April 9th in the backyard of a home in Southampton County, about 45 miles from where she was last seen.

No other information has been released at this time.
