You may already already know British diver Tom Daley and American soccer star Megan Rapinoe, but here are 11 other out athletes - who are competing in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio - to put on your radar.

Maartje Paumen

Paumen is a Dutch field hockey player. She is a decorated athlete in the sport, winning gold medals in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.


Seimone Augustus

Augustus is an American basketball player, who already boasts two Olympic gold medals. The Baton Rouge native has become a recognizable figure in the WNBA, earning MVP honors while playing for the Minnesota Lynx.


Tom Bosworth

Bosworth is a race walker and holds three British records in the sport. He is also a qualified trampoline coach and sports masseur.


Mayssa Pessoa

Pessoa is a handball goalkeeper who plays for the Brazilian national team. She is currently engaged to Canadian model Nikki Shumaker.


Nadine Muller

Muller is a German discus thrower. She competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, placing fourth.


Dutee Chand

Chand is an Indian sprinter. She is only the second Indian athlete to ever qualify for the women's 100 meter race at the Olympics.


Ian Matos

Matos is a Brazilian diver and one of four out Brazilian athletes competing in Rio. Matos came out in 2014 just 5 weeks after fellow diver Tom Daley.


Nicola Adams

Adams is a British boxer. She won a gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and hopes for a repeat this year in Rio.


Jeffrey Wammes

Wammes is a Dutch gymnast. His favorite gymnastics events are floor exercise and vault.


Ari-Pekka Liukkonen

Liukkonen is a Finnish swimmer. He is the first Finnish athlete to come out publicly while still competing.


Stephanie Labbé

Labbé is a Canadian soccer player. She was the goalkeeper for the University of Connecticut's soccer team and had six shutouts in her senior year.
