"I Am Cait" will not be returning for a third season. Caitlyn Jenner, the transgender star of the E! reality series, posted the news to Twitter on Tuesday.

"I Am Cait" premiered July 26, 2015 and ran for two seasons, both of which consisted of eight episodes. The final episode of the series aired on April 24 of this year.

Aside from Jenner, the series featured a number of other well-known transgender community members, including Zackary Drucker, Kate Bornstein, Candis Cayne and Jen Richards.

“We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of I Am Cait, a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs," an E! spokesperson said in a statement.

Jenner appeared on several seasons of E!'s "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" before she got a show of her own. According to the network's statement, "[Jenner] will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
