The Stonewall Community Foundation on Monday honored NBC's Ronan Farrow with a Vision Award for his reporting on transgender issues.

Each year, the organization honors the work of "extraordinary individuals and groups that use their voice, position, or talent to improve and enrich the lives of LGBTQ people." Past honorees have included Cyndi Lauper, Janet Mock and Lee Daniels.

Farrow shared an Instagram post after receiving the award, calling it a "big honor."

One of Farrow's most recent reports, which aired on June 1 as part of TODAY's "Uncovered" series, is centered around a young woman transitioning while in college.
