Kwasi Enin, the Long Island high school senior who was accepted to all eight Ivy League schools, is heading to Yale. He delivered the news in style at a press conference in front of TV cameras and teachers. It’s the type of setting usually reserved for top athletes choosing their college. The 17-year-old plans to study medicine and become a doctor, and it looks like he’s well on his way.

If you knew you were going to lose your eyesight, what would you do? A 9-year-old Texas boy is preparing for that now. Ben Pierce was born premature, which led to complications with his eyes. He’s gradually losing his vision and doctors say he’ll likely be blind. So now, his parents and five siblings are on a mission to help Ben collect as many visual memories as possible. Van Gogh paintings, the Northern Lights and Legoland are all on his bucket list. To help Ben with his wish list, his family is holding fundraisers and his community has pitched in money, too.

3. Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Takes a Leave of Absence

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is taking a leave of absence after a new photo surfaced of the troubled politician allegedly smoking crack cocaine. The mayor’s office announced that Ford would be taking leave from his mayoral responsibilities in order to seek help for his substance abuse problem. The mayor’s decision to get help comes after a series of images chronicling Rob Ford’s bad behavior made headlines. The Globe and Mail published the photo, which was allegedly taken from footage filmed by Ford’s self-professed drug dealer -- who the paper says is hoping to sell the video at a six-figure price tag.

4. Snapchat Adds Text Messaging

The popular “selfie” messaging service has announced a few big changes. Text messaging is now available on Snapchat. Like the original photo version, the messages disappear but you can take screengrabs of your conversations. Video chatting has also been added to the app, so when you see one of your friends online, you can easily jump between text and video conversations. Snapchat is clearly thinking about its long-term position in the mobile messaging game.

5. ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant’s Winning Attitude

Trent Girone is a huge “Wheel of Fortune” fan. So when the 21-year-old from Peoria, Ariz., who has both Tourette Syndrome and Asperger’s Syndrome, got the chance to go on the show, he made the most of it. Later, Trent called it one of the best days of his life. He didn’t end up winning, but it’s totally worth watching his interaction with Pat Sajack.

6. Baseball Delays Come in Pairs

You’ve heard of rain delays in baseball, but what about a sprinkler delay? That’s what happened at a minor league baseball game when first baseman Fernando Perez chased a foul ball and accidentally kicked a sprinkler head. Water shot up into the air, chaos ensued and the game was delayed for 18 minutes. Then there’s the dog who ran onto the field at a college softball game in Oregon. He snatched a glove right off one player’s hand. The dog eventually lost interest and the game resumed. Did we mention the dog was a pit bull?
