German police said on Friday six people were wounded in a shoot-out at a nightclub in Bremen between rival groups of foreigners from Albania and Lebanon.

A police spokesman said the incident began when an Albanian bouncer was beaten in front of one club. Two hours later he appeared in front of another club with reinforcements and began shooting, wounding two bystanders.

Fire was then returned from inside the club and spread onto the street.

“The shootout spilled out to the street and four people there were injured,” a police spokesman said. The gunmen fled, many to a parking garage where they were captured. Several Albanians and Lebanese men aged 20 to 28 were detained.

Five of the six hurt were treated for gunshot wounds.
