NBC News has numerous award-winning correspondents, producers, and cameramen who have been stationed in and out of the Baghdad bureau and are regular contributors to Blogging Baghdad. See a list of their bios.

Blogging Baghdad aims to provide a dynamic look at the story behind the story of covering the news in Iraq. Online entries detail the realities of life for ordinary Iraqis, American troops, and the media living and working in a 24 hour war zone.

NBC News has numerous award-winning correspondents, producers, and crews stationed in and out of the Baghdad bureau who are regular contributors to Blogging Baghdad. Below is a list of their bios. 

Jane Arraf is a freelance NBC News correspondent. Before coming to NBC, Arraf was the Edward R Murrow press fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York following eight years as CNN's Baghdad Bureau Chief, Istanbul Bureau Chief, and Senior Baghdad Correspondent.

Arraf was the only Western reporter based in Baghdad in the late 1990s. She was expelled from Iraq for covering an unauthorized protest against the Iraqi government in the fall of 2002, returned to cover the war along the front lines in Northern Iraq, and was embedded with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps in the battles for Najaf, Samarra and Fallujah. She also covered live the bombing of the U.N. headquarters in Baghdad and the first Iraqi elections. She first began reporting from Iraq in 1991

Before joining CNN, Arraf worked for Reuters Financial Television in Washington, D.C. and as a Reuters correspondent/bureau chief in Montreal and Amman, Jordan. She also worked as a desk editor in New York and Washington, D.C.

Her other assignments have included Haiti, Bosnia, India and the Arab Gulf states. She studied journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa.

Tom Aspell joined NBC News in 1985 as a producer based in Cyprus, covering the rising tensions in the Middle East and traveling throughout the region’s potential flash points.

After the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in August 1990, Aspell went to Baghdad where he began reporting for NBC News as an on-air correspondent and has been covering the region ever since. Click here to read Tom Aspell's full bio.

Mike Boettcher is an NBC News correspondent.

Karl Bostic is an NBC News producer based out of London.

Kevin Burke is an NBC News camera man.

Ned Colt is an NBC News correspondent based in London. Prior to London, he was NBC News lead Asia correspondent and was based in Hong Kong from 1997-2005. Click here to read Ned Colt's full bio. 

Richard Engel, the only television news correspondent to cover the entire war in Iraq for an American television network from Baghdad, joined NBC News in May 2003 and has been reporting from Iraq ever since. Kiko Itasaka is an NBC News producer based out of London.

Susan Kroll is an NBC News producer based out of New York. 

Jim Maceda, in  a career spanning more than 30 years, has covered over 100 countries and reported on many major conflicts, from the war in Rhodesia, to Lebanon, to Northern Ireland, to the wars in the former Yugoslavia, including the airstrikes in Serbia and Kosovo, to the conflict in Afghanistan and Iraq. George Mathews is freelance producer working for NBC News in Baghdad. Before coming to work for NBC, George did a 13-month tour as a civilian Department of the Army and Department of State press officer in Baghdad. Prior to his stint with the U.S. government, George spent nearly eight years working as a television news producer. George is also a former U.S. Army Field Artillery officer and a veteran of the first Gulf War.

Adrienne Mong is an NBC New producer based out of London. 

Kianne Sadeq is an NBC News producer.

Sohel Uddin is an NBC News producer based out of London.

Donald Wood is an independent producer who covers stories throughout the Southeastern U.S. and the Caribbean for NBC News. Wood served as a U.S. Marine in Washington D.C., at the height of the Watergate Scandal. That experience inspired him to pursue a career in journalism. Wood is currently on his second Baghdad tour.
