DUXBURY - With a decisive 4-0 win over Duxbury yesterday, Sandwich became the first Blue Knights boys soccer team since 1975 to complete an undefeated season. The victory leaves Sandwich with a final regular-season record of 15-0-3.

The shutout was the 11th straight for junior goalie Liam Bokanovich, and 15th of the year for the Blue Knights, who surpass the record of 14 set by that same 1975 squad. In 18 regular-season contests, Sandwich only gave up three goals.

Senior captain Eric Alvarenga notched his 14th and 15th goals of the season, scoring the first goal of the night on an unassisted blast to the upper right corner.

Alvarenga redirected a shot from Brian German, heading it home for the third Blue Knight goal. Mike Bridges scored unassisted for the second goal. The Blue Knights led 3-0 at the half. In the second half, sophomore Kevin Flanigan headed the ball in the net for the final goal.
