A missing 2-year-old whose disappearance prompted an Amber Alert has been found unharmed in Virginia, authorities said Tuesday.

The girl's mother told police that Mariah Poland was abducted when the car in which she was sitting was stolen early Tuesday at a convenience store in Rocky Mount, N.C.

She was found in the abandoned car in Richmond, Va., according to the state Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.

The statewide Amber Alert was issued about 3 a.m. for Mariah, a little more than an hour and a half after the car was stolen, authorities said. It was canceled about 10:20 a.m.

The child's mother, Elizabeth Calvin, told police that Mariah was in the back seat of her car when she stopped at Cousins Food Mart. The mother said she left the car running, then went into the store to ask a question. She said she saw a man drive off in the car.

No arrests had been made in the case Tuesday.
