A local family has been entertaining tourists for a living, putting on a happy face to cover the pain that's going on at home. Marina Tanase used to work with her husband at The Venetian before their 12 year old son, Anatol was diagnosed with cancer several months ago.

Marina had to quit her job to stay at home with her son. The company her husband works for as a living statue is contracted through The Venetian. It does not offer health insurance, which means every time Anatol goes to the hospital, they have to pay full price.

Marina says they've racked up more than $300,000 in bills.

"I want to be the strongest that I am, but sometimes its very hard to keep yourself like everything is okay; it's impossible," said Marina.

Marina says her son is too weak to walk or talk, and that he is wasting away.

If you'd like to give a donation to this family, they have a medical fund set up. Just go to any Bank of America branch and ask to donate to the Anatol Tanase Medical Fund.
