The Reno City Council has approved an agreement to establish an urban market in downtown Reno.
Officials say the Reno market eventually would include one or more indoor restaurants, a gourmet food market, arts and crafts, meat, cheese and produce.
Several locations are under study in the agreement with the Nevada Certified Farmers Market Association. The association says an outdoor market should open this summer. Indoor stores and restaurants would be phased in.
Several locations are under consideration.
With more former hotel rooms being converted to condominiums, City Manager Charles McNeely says the market could be a major grocery source for downtown residents.
