Bell Boeing, an alliance between Textron Inc.'s Bell Helicopter unit and Boeing Co., received a $10.4 billion, five-year contract from the U.S. Department of Defense for 167 Osprey aircraft.
The contract includes 26 of the aircraft for the Air Force Special Operations Command and 141 planes for the U.S. Marine Corps.
Textron shares rose $1.13, or 2.1 percent, to $55.75 during aftermarket electronic trading, after closing up 37 cents at $54.62. Boeing Co. shares fell 75 cents to close at $73.47.
