MySpace has developed technology to tailor advertisements to its members based on information on their personal profile pages, owner Fox Interactive Media said on Tuesday.

The popular social networking site, which has an estimated 110 million users, found that the new system improved the likelihood that members will click on an ad by 80 percent on average, said a spokeswoman for Fox, confirming a report in The New York Times.

MySpace has been experimenting with the in-house system over the past six months and it will be available broadly this fall, she said.

Peter Levinsohn, the president of News Corp's Fox Interactive Media, will speak about the technology at a Merrill Lynch conference later on Tuesday.
