An incident involving a San Diego trolley and an SUV prompted officials to shut down trolley service during rush hour on Tuesday.

The wreck took place at about 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Park Boulevard and Market Street in the East Village neighborhood.

Rescuers treated the driver of the green SUV at the scene, taking the person to an ambulance in a gurney. It's not known what the exent of the driver's injuries were, but the vehicle appeared to have been spun around up onto a curb.

Trolley service returned to normal within a half-hour after the crash.
