CORPUS CHRISTI - A veteran police officer and two other officers have been under investigation for improper dealings at the city impound lot. The FBI, which has also investigated the case, says it has turned its findings over to the Justice Department in Washington. The Justice Department will decide whether to pursue criminal charges against the three officers.
The police department has conducted its own internal investigation, which has resulted in the termination of senior officer Marty Jasso.
Police Chief Bryan Smith says there are allegations that the officers used their position for personal gain by improperly buying and selling vehicles at the impound lot.
The alleged charge is also a federal crime.
