BOSTON -- Several middle school students were treated on Tuesday after they were exposed to pepper spray at school.
The incident happened at the Thompson Middle School in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.
Three students were taken to the hospital. Now, one of their classmates is in police custody.
According to authorities, an eighth grade student sprayed pepper spray in the school's hallway. Fumes filled some areas of the school.
The school was evacuated, but no serious injuries were reported.
Several students were treated for coughing and irritated eyes. Everyone is expected to be OK.
The student arrested faces felony charges because you must have a permit to carry pepper spray, said police.
