The Guam Police Department's Violent Street Crimes Task Force has taken the lead into an investigation into dealing with minors in possession of firearms and explosives. One male minor is being detained at the Department of Youth Affairs after he was found in possession of a firearm and an explosive.

More than five people have already been brought in for questioning while police try to determine how the individuals came into possession of the items. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as well as the Navy's Criminal Investigation Section and EOD unit are assisting with the investigation, as the grenade appears to be military grade.
